AgBB Evaluation Scheme

The Committee of Health-Related Evaluation of Building Pro-ducts (AgBB) was created in 1997. It is made up of representatives from the ministries of health, the German Institute for Civil Engineering (DIBt), the German Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM) and the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment(BfR), among others.

The goal of the AgBB is to provide a uniform and clear health evaluation of building products in Germany. For this purpose, the AgBB has developed a universally valid evaluation scheme so emissions of volatile organic substances from building products for interiors can be evaluated.

TÜV PROOF Criteria Catalogue

The TÜV Rhineland testing certificate is issued to wall paints whose noxious substance content and emission behaviour have been analysed. When this testing certificate is awarded to a certain product, it means that no health risks should be feared according to current knowledge.

Criteria Catalogue of „Environmental Medicine and Building Hygiene “ Journal

The “environmentally-medically recommended“ seal is issued by the Environmental-Medical, Building Hygiene and Indoor Toxicology Society to products that meet the following criteria: non-hazardous, low emissions, favourable influence on indoor climate and comfort, improvement of air quality, increase of residential comfort and residential health, among others. Individual or several criteria can be used for the assessment, but the product must by all means be non-hazardous.
